General objectives of the Dip. E.C.C.Ed&A. Course for Teachers Education are:
To provide theoretical knowledge and understanding of principles of early childhood education, based on child development.
To enable student teachers to acquire the attitudes, skills, insights and techniques necessary to be able to:
Work with children of ages 1 year to 6 years, using play way, and activity methods
Organise, plan and administer the pre school, Programmes
Work effectively with parents and community.
To provide a basic knowledge and understanding for teaching and working within the framework of Indian conditions and to adapt to local needs, situations and resources
To provide information on developing and planning schools
